Springs Cost of Living 8% Below National Average

Living costs in Colorado Springs were 8% below the national average during the January-to-March quarter, nearly the widest such gap in 20 years, according to a survey by the Council for Community and Economic Research.  Local costs were 6.8% below the national average during the first quarter of 2010 and averaged 7.2% below the average for all of 2010.  The index is designed to compare living costs for people moving to another city and covers 312 metropolitan areas nationwide.
